The pharmacy chain “Aloe” took the 17th place in the TOP20 e-commerce ranking

The organizations included in the TOP 20 e-com segment of the Russian pharmaceutical retail, according to the results of the first quarter of 2021, provided revenue in the amount of 38.2 billion rubles. This represents 82.7% of the total volume of operations within the e-com segment in Russia during this period.
The total volume of online sales/booking of pharmacy products (medicines + parapharmaceuticals) in Russia in the first quarter of 2021 reached 46.2 billion rubles (in final consumption prices, including VAT), according to the report of the analytical company RNC Pharma.
The ruble dynamics relative to the same period in 2020 reached 24%. Analysts regard this indicator as a real success against the background of a drop in the total volume of the Russian pharmaceutical and parapharmaceutical market. It was provided mainly due to the non-medicinal assortment, the dynamics of medicines reached 13.4%.
The absolute leader is still “Pharmacy.ru”, in the first quarter of 2021, the company held a share of 4% of the total volume of the Russian pharmaceutical market (taking into account the parapharmaceutical assortment). At the same time, the company demonstrates very moderate dynamics (13%), below the overall pace of development of the e-commerce segment in the pharmaceutical market.

Analysts believe that “the situation can be corrected by the acquisition of control in the Erkafarm group, but the duration of this effect will be determined by the common strategy for the development of the service, including through additional functionality, otherwise the company simply will not be able to resist the active development of competitors”. 

According to the results of the first quarter, a real breakthrough in the development of the e-com direction was provided mainly by non-trading players. Although objectively the results of such structures as “Sber Eapteka”, “Neopharm” and “Pharmacy chain 36,6” analysts rate very highly.

“All these structures with historically very well-developed online services, to ensure double-digit growth rates here, besides surpassing the average dynamics in the segment, on a fairly high base and during the active growth of competitors, the task is even technically very difficult,” — the report notes.
